Independent quantitative research focused on the U.S. equity market.

MarketLayers is an independent quantitative market research publication focused on the U.S. equity market.

Markets rarely tell their full story through price alone. MarketLayers looks beneath the headline index move by examining multiple layers of evidence, including market breadth, downside damage, cross-asset behavior, market-wide order-book demand, sector leadership, stock-level demand signals, and the transmission of those signals into price.

The research follows a data-first process. Quantitative evidence comes first; public news, company disclosures, regulatory data, and other external information are used primarily to test, explain, or challenge what the data is already showing.

MarketLayers also distinguishes between signals that operate at different speeds. Fast market and order-book information is evaluated separately from slower company fundamentals and delayed institutional-holdings data. A single indicator, headline, or one-day price move is not treated as sufficient evidence on its own.

The primary research horizon is 3–10 trading days, with an emphasis on identifying developing market structure, leadership persistence, price confirmation, divergences, and the observations that could invalidate the current thesis.

The goal is not to predict every market move. It is to build a disciplined framework for asking better questions about what is changing beneath the surface of the market.
